Our New Flowers

We received these Vegetables from the Japanese Lady that was at the flower store she helped us to the car with our flowers then said a bunch of sentences in Japanese and pointed to the Garden she had and i bowed and said Domo which means Thank you that's the only word I knew to say back to her that would work for what she was trying to say to me :) So she ended up giving us Peppers and Eggplant and i think Cucumber but i could be wrong. I'm going to look up a Recipe for the Eggplant tonight. Japanese People are very giving.
Amber arranged the Vegetables like a face :)

A friend of mine Jane told me about this Flower Store so the girls and I went today and picked out these flowers. Above Kayleigh is in Jane's van, She likes being in the back with Baby Jo and Anna :) I hope they play a lot together it would be really nice for Kayleigh to play with little ones her age.

These two flowers are my favorite ones they cost me 1400 yen which is a little more than 14 US Dollars.

Pictures on the way back to Sasebo

This is a bridge going back to Sasebo hope to get the name of it the next time we go though.

Again not sure what this is but we know we want to go we were just way to tired today to stop by. So we just got a quick picture.

Yes Meghan we have a Mcdonalds but no Burger King :)

Autum being Autum :)

Sasebo here we come :)

Wearing Masks

The Japanese wear masks when they are sick so they don't spread Their germs. I think this is a great custom

Japanese Ice Cream

Japanese have a lot of flavors of Ice Cream including Crab Ice Cream Lobster Ice Cream and Squid I think our Ice Cream was the Basic it was 100 yen a piece and was good on a hot summer day.

This is my Favorite Picture of the day.

Japanese Bathroom

While in the Park we went into the bathroom luckily for us we just wanted to see and didn't need to use the Washroom as they say. I'm sure one day we will have to but hopefully not I just don't think i could get it right. :)

Our Nagasaki Adventure

Peace Memorial from China

We woke up this morning to breakfast being made by Amber and Autum, they made French Toast :) We were being lazy and I figured it would be a day at home. We all decided to go on a adventure looking for the Nagasaki waterfall. So we left with NO MAP it was my intention to leave without a map then we headed for Nagasaki and decided if we couldn't find the waterfalls we would eventually stumble onto something. As we were driving we came upon a sign for the Peace Park and we took the turn and this is what we found. A Memorial for the Atomic Bombing. We never did find the Waterfalls but we were still happy. I don't always recommend leaving the house without a map but everything worked out for us at least this trip :)

Crane Statue this represents Luck and Fidelity

Kayleigh standing next to a sign that i think says no pooping here :)

This is what is left of the Prison after the Atomic Bomb Exploded.

Amber and Kayleigh in front of another Peace Statue

Tony and the girls posing beside a tree :)

The Fountain Sprays out water shaped like a pair of wings evoking the Dove of Peace and the Crane.

Another Peace Statue

Here the Japanese Take water from a cup and pour over the Flowers are way of representing that when the Atomic Bomb exploded on August 9, 1945 thousands of people suffered terrible burns and died begging for water. The Fountain of Peace was built to remind us of the victims and to wish for world peace.

This is the Statue of Peace was built in August 1965 for the 10th Anniversary of the bombing. The folding right leg represents quiet meditation. The right arm points to the threat of Nuclear Bombs. The closed eyes represents a prayer for all war victims.
The out stretched left hand represents tranquility and world peace. The left legged is poised for action to assist humanity.

This is her own little fire truck, but Pap Pap gets to drive the big one :)

She had a lot of fun here plus it is right beside the house so very easy and fast entertainment for her.

Kayleigh had eaten M & M's on the way home and falling asleep i tried to get a picture and ended up waking her :) We had a long morning so she was tired.

This is a Buddha at the end of the Albuquerque Bridge heading to the Ginza.

Mommy & Daughter Day

This is the bridge leading to the Ginza this is where the festival was in my other posting.

Kayleigh loved the toy shop :)

We got up this morning and drove to Amber's School E.J. King High School to enroll her in her classes. She has taken 2 years of Spanish so we are going to do two years of Japanese :) In overseas DOD Schools there language credits count to high school credits even though she isn't a freshman yet, which i love :) After visiting the school we went to eat on Main Base and then went to the Ginza Amber got her Carpet for her room.

The park was beautiful they had obviously Peacocks and Pink Flamingos and a Zip line which Tony let Kayleigh go on all by herself and yes Karrissa i was Closing my eyes and telling him if she falls your in trouble She loved it :) We spent probably and an hour and a half there and then went back to Hario Village which is where we live.
