The Beggining of our Journey
Wow can living here be this exciting? You all know i was dreading this move no matter what i said you all knew deep down inside i was scared out of my mind. Traveling overseas with 3 kids to a place we knew nothing about was very out of my norm. Yes we travel ALOT but only in the states. Tony has been in the Marines for 17 years now and for us not to go overseas was a bit strange but with 3 Iraq Deployments i thought we were in the clear :) We left Norfolk,VA at 830 on the July 28th got to Dulles about an hour later then left for Tokyo we were on that flight for 14 hours when we arrived in Japan we were told to remain seated that Paramedics would be coming on board, a young American was very air sick and had to be carried off the plane. Once we were allowed off we headed for Customs Tony kept saying just following the traffic of people but we couldn't cause we had Kayleigh in her stroller and needed to take the elevator we did find it and was surprisingly very fast to get through customs in Japan. We then headed for our last flight :). Once we were on board the girls and I were seated in the front of the plane and Tony in the back. The Japanese Flight Attendants were always at our seats talking to Kayleigh they kept touching her face and telling her she was beautiful the one lady even found a Disney Cinderella book for her. Yes it was in Japanese and Yes needed to be read from back to front. But Kayleigh could look at the pictures. Once we arrived in Fukuoka we grabbed our luggage and went looking for our sponsor who didn't show so we had to wait another 2 hours to take the Free Shuttle to Main Base. We arrived at the Navy Lodge at midnight on the 29th.
